Ellie

Ellie joined the BSc (Hons) Psychology programme at University Campus Oldham after completing a foundation year, having taken a break from formal education following college.

She valued the smaller cohort sizes that allowed regular one-to-one conversations with lecturers about research methods and developmental psychology. Group projects mirrored workplace collaboration, preparing her for data analysis roles in health and social care settings.

During her final year, Ellie designed a dissertation exploring adolescent wellbeing in community settings, supported by a dedicated supervisor with expertise in applied psychology. She presented her findings at a UCO research showcase and received encouragement to apply for MSc programmes.

Ellie now works as a research assistant with a local charity while studying part-time for a master's degree. She credits UCO's academic support team for helping her develop study skills and manage deadlines alongside part-time employment.
