PGCE In-Service Lifelong Learning (Part-time, September Start)

Course overview

This in-service pathway allows employed FE staff to gain PGCE status with flexible scheduling. Teaching practice is drawn from your current role subject to quality assurance requirements.

Entry requirements

• Honours degree or equivalent in subject area you wish to teach
• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above
• Literacy and numeracy skills tests or equivalents as required
• Teaching placement access arranged with programme support

How you learn

Workshops, micro-teaching, peer observation, and mentored placement teaching.

Assessment

Lesson observations, teaching portfolio, assignments, and professional discussion.

Placement

Minimum teaching practice hours in an approved lifelong learning setting.
